The social ostracism of mentally ill patients

27 Feb

Mental illness has a stigma attached to it and no matter how educated or evolved the human race has become, it is still considered a disease which is looked down upon. A mentally ill patient is often ostracized by friends and family alike thus further contributing to the mental illness. As besides the mental illness the patient also has to bear with loneliness.

Mentally ill patients are treated as social outcasts

mental health and homeopathyIn ancient times, mentally ill patients were chained and often considered to be possessed by demons. The only treatment they received was punishment. Even today, when the circumstances have changed and there are rehabilitation centers for the treatment of the mentally ill, the social ostracism of the patient continues and families usually hide the fact that a member of their family is suffering from a mental illness.

Mindheal cures mental illness from its roots

While conventional medicine suppresses the disease with the help of anti-depressants and other medication. Mindheal homeopathy addresses the root cause of the illness. The well trained homeopaths at the mindheal clinic spend considerable time with the patient diagnosing the root cause of the illness. Along with medicines the patient and family and friends are also given consultations so that they know how to behave with the patient and the homeopath carefully explains the disease and its symptoms and how they would be manifested in the patient to the patient, family members and friends.

Dr Anita  S Salunke has treated various patients suffering from bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia and obsessive compulsive disorder.

Because homeopathy has a holistic approach to the patient instead of the piecemeal approach of conventional medicine, it treats the root cause of the illness. Conventional medicine looks at the symptoms of the patient and treats the symptoms, homeopathy on the other hand takes the patient as a whole, and it carefully examines the mind body connection and treats the mental, emotional and physical symptoms. It treats the patient in totality. Homeopathy can work beautifully as a complementary medication to conventional medicine, where while the conventional doctor treats the immediate symptoms manifested in the patient, homeopathy addresses the root cause of the illness.
